About This Tool
Description
This Random Decision Wheel is built using the HTML5 Canvas API for highly visual and physics-based spinning. Unlike simple randomizers, this tool operates on an **absolute percentage model**, meaning the combined chance of all options **must not exceed 100%**. This ensures you precisely control the likelihood of each outcome. The wheel features distinct colors and clear text for excellent visibility, even with many small segments, and uses a realistic deceleration curve for a satisfying spin effect.
How to Use
- Define Percentage: In the input fields, type the option name and the **exact percentage chance** you want it to have (e.g., 25 for 25%).
- Monitor Totals: Watch the Current Total and Remaining indicators. You cannot add an entry that pushes the total above 100%.
- Configure Spin: Adjust the **Spin Duration** and **Minimum Full Rotations** settings to control the animation's length and intensity.
- Spin: Click the **SPIN THE WHEEL** button. The wheel will rotate, slow down gradually, and the winning entry will be prominently announced in the center panel.
Useful For
- Risk Modeling/Simulations: Allocating chances to different outcomes in a controlled environment (e.g., 50% chance of success, 30% partial failure, 20% total failure).
- Weighted Raffles/Giveaways: Ensuring participants who purchased more tickets have a higher, but measurable, chance of winning.
- Decision Making: Making daily decisions where some options are clearly preferred but you still want an element of chance (e.g., 70% chance of ordering Thai food, 30% chance of trying the new place).
